The Empire strikes back

Prequel

In the autumn of the last year an alliance of gods and heroes from the Ancient world descended from the skies to visit the UK2 server and conquer it and build a mighty monument of unseen beauty for the generations to come.. a Wonder of the world.

To acomplish this task they picked NW as their home and they founded fearsome settlements in that area. As the time passed it turned out another alliance has also chosen the NW for their homeland - NemRis. This resulted in conflicts over the rich and fertile croplands and oases of the NW which escalated into a full scale war.

Step by step we pushed the enemy away and claimed the land, destroyed their many of their capitals and took away many of their villages. For our surprise even facing an extinction NemRis never gave up. They have bled and they have fought but upon losing ground they were settling other regions of the NW from where they continued the resistance. And even though they could never deliver any real damage to our settlements they were impossible to completely remove.
And those early wars with an enemy who does not impress with his strength but rather with his пersistency took their toll on us preventing our growth from being what it should be.

In the meantime the more hospitable NE was settled by the gang of the alcoholics anonymous where they thrived enjoying the peace. After they swiftly dealt with the minor local tribes they turned their greedy eyes towards the rich lands of the NW. And soon their wildling hordes rushed to our peaceful cities. Time after time the invaders sent their siege and catapults to bring death and destruction upon us. Many brave warriors and peaceful villages fell pray to this perfidious aggression…

And we must admit that we were not ready for it as we expected this war to follow the release of the artifacts. This forced us to face a two front war. Overcoming the toll every war takes on us time after time we rebuilt the desecrated shrines, the raided villages and the wheat fields set on fire. But our armies were growing, gaining more and more experience in battle and becoming more disciplined by each passing day. So we did not forsake our dream of bringing a Wonder into the world of man and we waited patiently to claim our vengeance.

10 days before the plans were released we started a large scale preparations for it which included sending many small squads (aka fakes) to terrorize the enemy. And the weak alcoholics mind could not withstand this mindgame so they launched a mad attack once again. But this time we were ready. We were prepared. In the passing months we had the chance to build our defenses and study the simple tactics used by the wildlings. And this day many were slaughtered at our gates.

The time has come for us to smite them.

And so in the night of 29th of April, 5 days before plans release our 5 armies laid siege on the enemy’s most precious castle – the WW and destroyed 6 of they Great warehouses where they used to store all of their riches.

In the panic our attacks created another warrior used the opportunity and snatched and artifact off enemy’s hands.

The plans were released and we began to build Our Charm.

And with the growing of all the Wonders built by the nations in each quad the enemy decided to once again try and violate our lands. At Friday evening our scouts reported raising into the sky pillars of dust and smokes. It was however no hurricane nor it was a fire. It was the battle formations (you know.. assuming they can keep a straight line :P) of the alcoholics towards us once again. The target – the bases housing our weapons for mass destruction. However due to the superior strategic and analyzing skills of our council we were able to determine the real target and after fortifying the rest of the villages under attack we gathered our mightiest warriors and veterans into what latter became AA resting place. And the bold barbarians were mercilessly slaughtered before the gates once again:

For this attempted sacrilege they had to be punished. And so we decided to unleash the wrath of gods upon them and ensure the safety of Our Precious. And so we did:

The first attack claimed a village which owner used the AA artifact 6 times and used it to build a mighty 300k or bigger army in it.

The second attack was not so successful but the enemy still gave heavy casualties and lost a good portion of his cavalry:

Hello all,

My dual Pia and I started this server, because she wanted to try out how things are on uk scene. At first we decided to move out of the centre, cause neither one of us had time for dodging attacks every night also we didn’t have any gold at start so we couldn’t buy gladiator. As for me I never get cropper less than 125% so we decided to move far from centre. At first we wanted to play defense, but later on when I realized we have one of the best cropper in alliance (and I was 86 fields away from spawn village) I decided to play offensive with only 2 hammers (one capital and one non capital). Cropper was on lvl 17 at day 70 I think.

At start I was in alliance FED, which looked nice, but when i saw raiding from GMC, I decided to join them. This was probably a mistake, because when FED and GMC merged there wasn’t much action through server :(. Later on when artes came there was first shown lack of communication and lack of leadership power.

Speaking of artes, when they came (1h early and I warned all of GMC players that admins made mistake at info box, yet only 2 of them wake up at time), I told 1 min after artes spawned that I will be sending to unique fool, and waited 5 minutes and then send to it, and yet then some guy hell kaiser showed up 1h late and said he will send to it, and refused to give it to me (trade for something else), so I decided to clear large academic (http://travian-reports.net/us/report/498609507bf). Armies in artes was surprisingly low. We got quite a few nice artes (legs, trainers, and some diets), yet we didn’t know how to use them correctly. Through the server there was almost zero maneuvering of small academic :/.

Next some players from alliance Gimp deleted their accounts and cleared our WW, but still our builder didn’t take it and have time to build extra GW, GG, and a lot of troops to raid nearby villages for wheat. So it was up to me to clear that WW from spawning too many troops (http://travian-reports.net/us/report/498611026b9,49861245b6e,498613b2f9b).

Then I decided that I should start attacking some players, and for that I needed small haste, otherwise I would travel to enemies 24h+. It was one of the hardest decision which alliance to attack (MM or FLG) so i faked both and that even tougher decision which artefact should I steal (haste or diet), I decided for haste which was mistake, cause we needed WWR/WWK and for that would be way better diet :C (http://travian-reports.net/us/report/498614d0f46)

After we finally chiefed WW village, I was really surprised that there was literally 0 support village for NPCing and if you see our neighbourhood around WW (http://prntscr.com/femueo) and then compare that to com3 (http://prntscr.com/femv3m) I think you see the difference. And that’s just one of the reasons why we lost. One other reason why we lost is that there were just not enough wheat/resource sending to WW (again lack of support villages near WW) and a lot of deff starved and we couldn’t build 24/7 which is really bad.

At the end I would just like to said, that this was one of the longest servers I ever played. Both alliances (or at least I can speak for GMC) lack a lot in defense. Having less than 2M in WW is really bad (both alliances combined had 71 players). There was also only 3 fakes to great trainer, and only couple of fakes on off village/capital through the server.

To end this brief history, I would like to thanks some people:
- Pia: for registering this account with your email and for all the gold that got to this account because of you. Also big thanks for playing a lot until artes, and simming, when you left simming also stopped
- Matej: My ex dual from Slovenian servers, thanks for all the times when you came to help (me being at seaside for a month), sending raids, npcing etc…
- Tony (Illusion): For all the sitting and npcing when I visited my dual in Germany and stayed there for couple of nights.
-Trouble: for being WW builder.
- Big thanks also to MM alliance for fair and interesting game and congratulations for winning the server. You were better in almost all aspects of the game. So definitely well deserved win.

Where were the days when this forum was buzzing? Trying to come up with topics to discuss though...

Anyway... the auction house is mine! All mine!! Well... the artworks anyway... or atleast the sale and resale of artworks :ahoy:

See I just love works of art. You can buy a lot of things with money. You can buy a new face, a new nose, enhanced... you get the picture! But what you can't buy is talent! Can buy someone else's talent though!

And as such, I declare the artwork room of the auction house to be mine! If you want an artwork, you'll have to pay whatever minimum price I've set. For now... I think 10k per artwork is reasonable. You want one? 10k+ is your fee. I may put the price higher, but they'll won't be lower! I may or may not lower the price next week depending on how much profit I'm making ;)

Hello all,

Read Before Posting: Artifact Activation

Recently there have been some changes in Artefact activation behaviour and now the correct behaviour is the following.


  • Player still can have only 3 active artefacts on their account, only one of which can be account-wide. Nothing has changed on that matter.




  • If player has 3 artefacts village-scope and conquers the 4th, with the account scope effect, that means that the third (most recent) small artefact gets deactivated, and instead of it the 4th artefact gets active.

  • The artefact "Great diet control I" gets activated, because it’s of scope "account".




  • The artefacts "The slight titan boots V" and "The eagles slight eyes V" are activated as well, because they are the oldest remaining two artefacts.




  • The artefact "Rivals slight confusion VII" does not get activated because there are already three activated artefacts.

The "REAL" empire strikes back!

Good afternoon everyone, it is a great day today in the wonderful world of Travian where we all spend too long locked in.

I think after the last few days we should post up all the WW attacks that have occurred so we can see the failings and successes of each one!

Firstly we will start with the hits on AA from Olympia, Pantheon and LCA!

Now as you will no doubt see here we have a big contrast in standards of rammers and hammers. Namely that the rammers were ill prepared and very weak to go against an half decent defence and Artifact never mind a good defence and a X5 Artifact. This was the beginning of a bad day for AA's enemies. They had a brilliant WWk from Tangra (The biggest we will see on this server I believe) that basically hit a massive wall and loosened a few layers of dust from our WW rather than doing what it was supposed to do and removing the WW entirely. A better plan could have been made here. This is how a World Wonder should be defended!

Then we will go with OGC's destruction of SWM, a quad with deep divisions and lots of anger shown between these two teams all server. It was only going to end this way for at least one of these teams

As you can see here, we had some waste on rammers and a few smaller hammers. Two smaller rammers hit before the bigger one from NoName, these were both wasted in my eyes. But at the most one of the smaller ones (curi) should have followed in NoName not gone before then at least one decent rammer would have been saved to hit another enemy. A few smaller hammers were also wasted here which could have gone on a better target going forward but overall a good attack with a decent bit of overkill. Well played OGC.. BUT! The defence? Shockingly low defence for a WW, especially one that for some reason had a large diet active and not the x3 that was also held in the alliance (This X3)

Next came our hit on the OGC WW. We decided not to leave this to fate and planned to give this WW a good smack down. Now OGC had a better defence and they had the x3 active so this was not going to be walk in the park, some good hammers needed.

Then this happened, Wall 0'd, WW 0'd. A tiny bit of infra damage due to them still having a reasonable defence in place and that pesky x3. As you can see this is one decent rammer and a good WWk and this is how a WW is attacked properly!

Then we will end for now on the strike against the pretend empire that didn't really strike back at all :D

This was one great rammer followed by a good WWk. "Stick a fork in me, I'm done". Wall and WW were no more. With a good hammer following up to remove a GW and a couple of levels off of another. Now the defence here was poor again. For a WWk to collect 400k+ kills is not expected which begs the question? What were this now 70+ odd player alliance doing all server if they were not really attacking anyone properly and not building defence? A poor defence and a great attack here.

So that's that for now folks, let's see if someone can produce a better report to add on to this and hit the SE WW? And then we will see all the big guns hitting us after that i assume, let the fun and games continue. :)

General: Bring back naming of heroes

Hello everyone,

I number of people have mentioned on Skype and in a couple of threads in the forum (yes you Crunchie!) that it would be great to bring back the chance to name your hero.

People never really understood why the choice was removed, and it added another personal touch to an account instead of just naming villages.

Would anyone else like to see the ability to name your hero reinstated?

Bending but not breaking the rules

We've had some strange goings on in the NW this server.
I've read through some of the rules on chiefing, artifacts, etc.

I wondered if any of the following have ever been considered ....

How many times you can join the same alliance in one server .... we have some people join the same alliance seven or eight times so far.

Should an artifact with alliance wide effects (such as a WW plan) become disabled for a number of days after you change alliance?

A straight rush to the 0|-100 WW.

Controlling either South quadrant would probably be too much for them to achieve without heavy losses that would prevent them from winning. However, pinning yourself in between what will presumably become a quad dominant alliance on either side seems a large risk in itself.

Would love to see them win though. Another Liecester city story.

Set up a stronghold out in the sticks. Doing so has made supporting their own WW out of the question and a spoiler alliance would like to be further in.

If i had to guess i would say their plan is to sim a couple hammers and offer to give support to the quad dominant WW, being TBA/TBC.

Sparta/AoW/LoW


The first META showing it's face. I am sure there will be more.

Spread across entire North there plan seems to be to sweep all beneath them like an army of white walkers (Game of thrones reference, if you don't know what that is then there is no hope for you). This though will not be easy with QoQ trying to take the NW and TBA/C trying to take the NE.

I can see this META not making it to endgame. (sorry guys)

These lot look like a nice little bunch of Scandinavians.

Moving out immediatley and securing all the top croppers in the quad just outside of the 100|-100 marker. They won't be able to go it alone though so i expect to see them team up with RBS at some point. Whether that is before or after EFH depart is yet to be seen.

The only fully NW alliance out there but without enough players to compete with the other quad's big boys.

Assuming i am correct about the collapse of the META it will massivley open up the recruitment pool for QoQ, hopefully for them that will be with plenty of time to prepare for artefacts.

Failing that they will probably end up joining the META as that will be the only way to compete for end game.

Only here temporarily. The worst kind of alliance to have in your quad. At least a spoiler alliance will want to protect some hammers for end game but an alliance that has predetermined it will delete (and as such want to lose all of their hammers) before artefacts even come out, yikes. I would not want to be in the SW with this lot around.

The Royal Bank of Scotland. All have stayed very central and look well up for a fight. Part of me thinks these guys are going straight spoiler alliance but i have no official word on that.

If they can make it through EFH's breif visit and remain in good shape then recruit TV to their cause then the SE will have a serious contender to bring to the table.

I am sure they won't be able to win the server without TV and the battle with EFH will likely be hurt as they do not have to worry about preparing for the later stages of the server.
