In an effort to reduce the number of spambots and capture potential issues with dormant spambot accounts we have implemented a few changes.
New users are automatically placed in a special New Users usergroup. Where the first 5 posts will be sent to the moderators for approval. Once a user has achieved 5 posts (after approval) they will then automatically be moved to the normal registered usergroup.
New users are also limited on the number of messages they can send as well as other profile settings.
This ensure that if any spambots do get through the registration checks their spammy posts cant be seen on the forum. We know in the past some did register and are sat dormant so this will also capture any of those.
If you are a new user and are experiencing any issues please contact the moderation team.
